Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
"To Notion Bot" (the "Bot", "we", "us") is a Telegram bot that forwards messages, files,
contacts, and checklists from a Telegram chat into a Notion database or page that you
connect. This policy explains what data we collect and how it is used.
Data we store
We keep the minimum amount of data required for the Bot to function:
-
Basic Telegram account info — your Telegram user ID, and for each
connected chat, its Telegram chat ID, chat type, and title.
-
Message references — the Telegram message ID and the corresponding
Notion page ID it created, so that edits and replies update the right Notion page instead
of creating duplicates. We do not store the message content itself.
-
Notion connection details — the OAuth access token and workspace/database
identifiers issued by Notion when you authorize the integration, so we can write to your
Notion workspace on your behalf.
-
Chat settings — preferences you configure (language, notification mode,
linked database) and, if you subscribe, basic billing status (subscription period, Stars
invoice ID) needed to manage your plan.
Data we do not store
- We do not permanently store the text, files, or media of your messages.
-
Files (photos, documents, voice messages, etc.) are streamed directly from Telegram to
Notion through the Bot and are not retained on our servers.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
How data is used
The data above is used solely to operate the Bot: matching incoming Telegram messages to the
correct Notion page, authenticating with the Notion API on your behalf, and applying your
chat preferences and subscription status.
Third-party services
- Telegram — used as the messaging transport (Telegram Bot API).
- Notion — used as the storage destination you explicitly connect via OAuth.
-
We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. PostHog) to understand feature usage
and error rates. These events are anonymized and do not include message content.
Data retention and deletion
Data described above is retained for as long as your chat remains connected to the Bot. You
can disconnect a Notion workspace, remove the Bot from a chat, or request full deletion of
your data at any time via the /feedback command in the Bot or by contacting us
(see below). Revoking the Bot's access from your Notion integrations settings immediately
invalidates the stored access token.
Security
Access tokens are stored in our database and are only used server-side to make requests to
the Notion API on your behalf. We take reasonable technical measures to protect this data
from unauthorized access.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the "Last updated" date above.
Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent via the /feedback command
inside the Bot.
